— — — Shooting related deaths are a rarity in Canada. So the shootout that happened outside of a Toronto nightclub. Toronto Police Chief, Bill Blair, told the media during a 1:30am press conference Tuesday morning that the two people killed are a teenage girl and 20-year-old man.
Investigators say around 11:00pm Monday night gunfire erupted during a barbeque block party that involved teenagers and young adults. As the gunfire erupted, dozens of people ran from the scene, some of whom, were trampled and injured. Police investigators say it’s possible that the number of people shot and injured could increase.
Blair said that the shooter or shooters had not been arrested and that officers were unclear of a motive.
