— — Hearing the news that former Roc-A-Fella artist Beanie Sigel is facing jail time is almost non-news at this point. The Philly born and bred emcee has faced a slew of court cases over his career and has served time. This time, he’s not fighting drug or assault charges. It’s the IRS this time.
Beanie’s sentencing for failing to file federal income tax returns is scheduled for this week. The rapper pleaded guilty earlier this year to not filing for 2003 through 2005. It remains to be seen if the court will have any mercy on the former Roc-A-Fella rapper.
It is being reported that prosecutors are seeking the maximum allowable sentence: three years in prison.
Born Dwight Grant, Beans earned more than $1 million in net income during those years and owes approximately $348,077 in taxes.
