Everyone wants to see a movie version of the hit animated series, “The Boondocks.” Well help creator Aaron McGruder make that dream come true. McGruder has taken to Kickstarter to raise the money to get the film started.
Aaron McGruder, creator of the Adult Swim cartoon TV series the “Boondocks,” has launched a Kickstarte campaign to raise money for a feature film based on one of the television show’s most controversial characters, Uncle Ruckus, the Grio reports.
Uncle Ruckus is a variation on the folk-telling sychophantic Uncle Remus character by Joel Chandler Harris.
“If you do know who Uncle Ruckus is, you either really love him or really hate him. But if you’ve made it this far, you probably love him like we do. This is your movie,” said McGruder. McGruder says he’s crowd-funding the film because Sony Pictures, which produces the Boondocks will not be involved.
