Island Def Jam Music Group and Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace have been hit with a lawsuit over the illegal use of Playaz Circle’s name and logo. AllHipHop reports that a music consultant named Torrey Cook served both parties with a civil suit, claiming that he owns the name and logo.

Cook also says that he informed both members of the group of his legal status. He claims that representatives from Def Jam and DTP have failed to cooperate as he has tried to rectify the dispute.

“Mr. Cook made it very clear to all involved, at every juncture, that the name Playaz Circle was trademarked and that it belonged exclusively to him, the suit reads. Further Mr. Epps [Ed. note: 2 Chainz] and Mr. Conyers [Ed. note: Dolla Boy] confirmed that they understood that the [trade]mark belonged to Mr. Cook.

Neither member of Playaz Circle, 2 Chainz nor Dolla Boy, have been named in the suit
