According to T.I., there was one high-profile collaboration on his new album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head that didn’t happen. In an interview with XXL, Tip revealed that Jay-Z was initially supposed to appear on the track “G Season.”
The spot was ultimately filled by Philly rap upstart Meek Mill.
“I asked Jay to get on [‘G Season’],” he said. “I sent word to Jay-Z, I asked him to get on it. I know he had a lot of sh*t going on, so he never got around to it. I finally ran into Meek in the club we was at, when Kanye did that thing at the post office about five, six weeks ago. We was there together and I was like, Hey, man, I got something I want you to do. We left there, got something to eat, then we went to Just Blazes studio in Harlem and laid the shit down right there.”
