Max B’s prison conviction was upheld last month, meaning the incarcerated rapper would remain in prison until 2042. Despite the news, Max told Shade 45’s Statik Selektah that he still plans to keep fighting. Max, born Charles Wingate, was convicted in 2009 of murder, conspiracy and robbery charges.
“We want them to look at this case closer. We want a new trial,” Max B explained. “I didnât have a fair trial. My constitution was violated. I mean you know, I’m still fighting though. I’m about to go on post-conviction. Everything is alright.”
Max B and his family created the “Pardon the Wave” petition to bring attention to the rapper’s situation and hopefully warrant a new trial.
