The great Kobe Bryant is getting old. While it might seem like Bean isn’t close to calling it quits, his body might not agree with him.
Bryant will be back this season after suffering an injury to his Achilles tendon. From all signs, it looks like Kobe will be ok. That means as long as you don’t take this sculpture as a sign.
A display at an Basketball Art exhibit in Taiwan featured a sculpture of the Laker star with a snake wrapped around his body.
The official write-up for the statue says:
Measuring 68 x 50 x 50 cm and made of FRP (fiber glass reinforced plastics), it features Kobe raising a basketball high in the air with a giant Black Mamba wrapped around — the head of the snake biting the Achilles. The figure has been in Santa Monica as part of an exhibiton before, appropiately named “Achilles” and designed by Roger Huang. It is on display now at the “Conscious 3? Basketball Art Exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan until August 24.
Lets hope that art doesn’t imitate life and the Mamba isn’t snake bit for the rest of his career.
