Meek Mill has always repped Philly. Whether that was mention his city in his rhymes or putting unsigned Philly acts on his mixtapes, Meek has always shown love to the city that raised him.
Meek is giving back more to his city this week when he kicks off his inaugural “A Dreamchasers Thanksgiving” event.
“Philly raised me and made me into the man I am today, so to do the first annual ‘A Dreamchaser’s Thanksgiving,’ was an obvious thing to do. I’m blessed to be in a position where I can make sure that as many people as possible have a meal on Thanksgiving, so that they can be with their loved ones to enjoy the holiday.” Meek said.
The MMG artist aims to feed nearly 600 families within the Philadelphia community taking place Tuesday (November 26) and Wednesday (November 27). The turkey give-a-way will benefit local Philly organizations including Youth Working Together, Town Watch and Unity in the Community.
Meek, Mayor Nutter and other special guests will be in attendance during the two-day events.
“I applaud Meek Mill for taking the initiative to give back to his home town,” Mayor Nutter said. “Gathering together with family and friends around a shared meal is one of the most important aspects of the holiday season. It is important to give thanks for all that we have, and I am proud that one of Philadelphia’s own is donating his time and resources to make sure families in our city can do just that.”

Whoever was sitting front row for this show really got what they paid for. During a recent show in Philadelphia, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea split her pants while performing. She would apologize to the fans, run backstage to get fixed up then get back to giving the fans what they want!
Check out Iggy showing her ass literally, below
Meek Mill stopped by Power 99 in Philly to speak on a slew of topics. One subject in particular, Kendrick Lamar really got Meek going. Listen to Meek speak about Kendrick’s verse on “Control,” MCHG and his new project, DC3.
“It’s Gillie!!!” For the last few days, it seems like two of Philly’s favorite sons, Gillie Da Kid and Meek Mill have been going back forth via twitter. While neither person put the other’s name in a tweet, most people could read between the lines. Well, I guess Gill is tried of playing games with Meek. He dropped a certified diss record last night called, “King Me.”
This could be a battle that would be worth watching, no diss to Cassidy. Listen to the heater below
Gillie and Meek might be having somewhat of a battle online, I remember when the 2 seemed to be tight. Check out a performance the two put on at a high school in 2011.
Authorities say thieves broke into a Philadelphia apartment and stole the keys to a Bentley and a yellow Lamborghini with a Batman sticker before speeding off in the luxury cars.
Authorities say the thieves broke in through a second-floor window in the city’s East Falls neighborhood late Monday or early Tuesday. They took the keys to the two cars, along with about $2,500 and two flat-screen televisions.
Police say one of the stolen vehicles, a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo with a Batman sticker on the back window, has been recovered. The other, a 2006 black Continental Flying Sport Bentley, remains missing.
Chief Inspector Scott Small says it appears the owner had been targeted.
A judge has set bail at nearly $1.6 million for a demolition contractor charged in a fatal building collapse in Philadelphia.
Sean Benschop had previously been held without bail on six charges of involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors argued at a preliminary hearing Wednesday that Benschop is a flight risk. They say he was born in Guyana, is not a U.S. citizen and has used numerous aliases.
Defense attorney Daine Grey countered that his 42-year-old client turned himself in after police issued an arrest warrant in the case.
Investigators say Benschop was impaired by marijuana and painkillers on June 5 when he operated heavy equipment on a vacant building under demolition.
A four-story brick wall collapsed onto the adjacent Salvation Army thrift shop, killing six people and injuring 13.
